ERA’s strategic priority is the comprehensive rehabilitation of the Ranger Project Area.

Rehabilitation and closure planning began soon after the Ranger mine began producing uranium oxide in 1981.

ERA is progressing a staged rehabilitation strategy that focuses upon adherence to the rehabilitation objectives as stated in the authorisation to operate.

This strategy will be achieved through the application of best practice and the use of technology within a risk based framework.

The strategy has been developed in line with our internal standards and the Australian and New Zealand Minerals and Energy Council and Minerals Council of Australia Strategic Framework for Mine Closure.

ERA’s long-term vision is to return the disturbed area to a viable ecosystem in line with our obligations to our stakeholders and regulators and the expectations of the community.

ERA's capability and commitment to protect the environment has been confirmed by the Australian Government's Supervising Scientist Branch, which conducts extensive monitoring and research programmes.
