ERA welcomes four new apprentices
For the first time in four years, ERA has taken on first-year trade apprentices at the Ranger Mine. It is believed to be the first time ERA has employed female apprentices.
The first year apprentices are Jodie Stansfield who has taken on a fixed plant maintenance trade in the plant operations team, Jaala Alley, a heavy diesel mechanical apprentice in mining operations, apprentice electrician Marie Rowell who has joined plant operations and Brock Hope who is a heavy diesel mechanical trade apprentice in the mining operations department.
Brock is a former Jabiru Area School student who took up his apprenticeship at Ranger after completing a two year school based traineeship in the light vehicle workshop.
ERA was supported by Australian Apprentices through the recruitment process which attracted a lot of applications.
ERA's Indigenous Support Officer Mickitja Onus who assisted in the recruitment process said, "it is good to see fresh new faces in the business in non-traditional roles".
