International Women’s Day celebrations
On Thursday 8 March ERA’s Ranger Women’s Network hosted two events to celebrate International Women’s Day.
The first was a morning tea on site where staff could take a break to celebrate women’s achievements and also discuss the strengths delivered by gender inclusion and workplace diversity.
ERA is committed to creating a safe, gender equal and respectful workplace and ensuring it is well-equipped to support employees and the local community.
The Ranger Women’s Network also hosted an evening International Women’s Day event at the Croc Hotel in Jabiru where mine employees and the local community could come along to support fellow women and girls to grow and be empowered to be the best they can be.
The night included inspirational guest speeches from Lesley Bryce, ERA General Manager Operations and Catie Kirke, Foundation and Director of ART Your Life and was also an opportunity to raise funds for local charities through ticket sales, raffles, auctions and donations.
The funds raised on the night will to towards local charity Dawn House which provides services to women and children escaping domestic and family violence and to charity Dolly’s Dream which aims to raise awareness of bullying, anxiety, depression, and youth suicide and improve access to youth support and prevention services. Both worthy causes which provide positive support for women and youth in Darwin and West Arnhem communities.
