Ping Leads Global Horticulture Community
Congratulations to Principal Advisor Rehabilitation and Ecology, Dr Ping Lu for his appointment to Chair of the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS)’s Mango Working Group last month.
The ISHS is a global network of more than 50,000 members including individuals, universities, governments, libraries and commercial companies, which aim to promote research in all fields of horticulture. The ISHS Mango Working Group is the top body promoting mango research around the world.
Prior to starting at ERA in 2007 Ping was the Senior Research Scientist for mango research at CSIRO and is recognised worldwide as a leading expert in the field.
Ping has continued to dedicate much of his personal time to pursuing his passion for mango research.
In 2010 Ping took annual leave to organise the Ninth International Mango Symposium in China and recently presented two papers at the 11th International Mango Symposium in Darwin.
“I am keen to promote the international collaboration and exchange between mango research and industry organisations, and global mango trade”, said Ping.
“I strongly believe that a successful global mango industry will result in a successful and vibrant mango research community, therefore great advancement in mango science,” he said.
In addition to his volunteering efforts Ping’s research papers are published widely and he contributes to several international journals.
