Raising awareness by swapping to pink
There’s a new shade of pink on the site roads at Energy Resources of Australia’s Ranger Mine in the Northern Territory.
The pink truck tray was an initiative of former ERA Mining Superintendent David Harvey to help raise awareness on site of breast cancer support and research.
Chris Hattingh, ERA Manager Mining and Infrastructure said they were proud to support David’s idea.
“We hope the pink truck will encourage our staff, visitors, contractors and the wider community to continue to support those affected by cancer and to support important lifesaving research efforts,” Chris said.
According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation one-in-eight Australian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Around one in 700 men will also be diagnosed with breast cancer.
