Supporting the 2017 Kakadu Triathlon
This year the Kakadu Triathlon celebrated its 5th birthday.
Energy Resources of Australia (ERA) is a proud supporter of the Kakadu Triathlon with many ERA teams and individuals competing plus volunteers helping out behind the scenes.
In 2017, the event expanded to include a duathlon and market stall area.
More than 300 participants from across the Northern Territory took part across all age groups and three events – the triathlon, duathlon and junior triathlon.
Starting early before the Northern Territory heat kicked in, the event circuit took place at the town pool and around the streets of the town of Jabriu with one race leg going out and back to the Ranger Mine.
As well as bringing the community together and having some fun, the event has raised in excess of $50,000 for CareFlight helicopter rescue service over the past five years, with almost $15,000 raised in 2017.
The event also forms part of the inaugural Top End Triathlon Festival which provides an opportunity to compete in three great events in Darwin, Jabiru and Katherine.
Congratulations to everyone who volunteered and competed in 2017 event.
